No-exam life insurance
Fast-track approval: who gets it, what it entails, and what happens if you don't qualify.
Many insurers now use fast-track review: for applicants within age and amount thresholds, they skip the exam and decide using your application plus data like prescriptions and driving records. Decisions sometimes arrive the same business day. Each quote states whether a medical exam is required, possibly required, or not needed for that product.
What it changes
Skipping the exam doesn't skip underwriting. Your stated facts are checked, and policies issued based on false information can be disputed in the first two years. If the carrier's investigation surfaces concerns, they may request an exam or labs; you can decide whether to proceed.
Who tends to qualify
Usually people under roughly 60 applying for amounts within the carrier's limit, with no serious health issues and no tobacco for 12+ months. Some carriers will substitute recent bloodwork from your doctor instead of an exam.
If needed, an exam typically lasts 20 to 30 minutes performed by a paramedic at your Atascadero home or workplace, at zero expense to you. For applicants in good health, exam results can actually improve your rate class, making it advantageous rather than burdensome.
